Bob Pack, Founder and CEO



Bob has over 20 years of technology and Internet experience. He has held executive sales management positions with several leading companies. He started the Scholastic Inc. technology publishing division as Director of Sales in 1984 then in 1989 he co-founded successful industry leading publications Sunexpert, Unix-server and Webserver magazines. In 1995-1996 he went on to run a sales division at AOL. In 1997 he co-started NetZero - NASDAQ (UNTD) as VP of Sales leading it through a $1.5B IPO in 1999.

In 2003 he started the Pack Foundation to spearhead public safety initiatives and has co-authored three Calif. Senate bills that have passed and become law. Bob currently chairs the state committee for the implementation of search engine technology for the tracking of prescription drugs in Calif. He has appeared with Katie Couric- on the NBC Today Show, the CBS Early Show and was featured in the Oct. 2007 issue of People Magazine for his foundation work. He has been honored with the Danville Award his town highest recognition and a Calif. State resolution by the Senate in 2004 for his public service.

He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Pharmacy Foundation of California.
Bob holds a B.S. Degree in Business from the University of Southern California.

Gus Bourg, Vice President of Network Technology

Gus founded an IT consulting business at the young age of 17 years. He later joined Internet start-up Freei Networks, a private label ISP, where he served as Director of Network Operations. The company built a national network infrastructure and grew to over 400 employees, then was aquired by NetZero. He has since held technical positions with Openwave Systems, Cingular Wireless and Microsoft, where he helped develop large-scale cluster management applications for MSN search.

Stefan Groschupf, CTO

Stefan is a German citizen who at the age of 19 years designed and built his own search engine for a University in Germany. At 21 years of age he founded Media Style, Inc., a computer engineering company specializing in text mining, search and e-commerce applications. Over the past 10 years he has consulted on Internet and database projects for BMW, Intel, Siemens and Hoffmann La Roche. He is an active member of the Open Source Community working on distributed file-sharing and map reducing implementation projects. Stefan is the founder and lead architect for "weta", the open source grid computing and distributed file-sharing programs. He has also contributed to "Nutch", the leading open source search engine.

Steve Bourg, Vice President of Developement

Steve began his career developing applications and network systems for an online mortgage company. He went on to co-found Internet start-up Freei Networks, a private label ISP, where he served as Chief Technology Officer, managing a department of over one hundred computer engineers until the company was acquired by NetZero. He then joined ATT Wireless where he worked in research and development on wireless application platforms.

Frank Henze, Director of Product Development

Frank began his career in the pharmaceutical industry after graduating with a degree in Pharmacy. He has worked in technical customer relation's management and as a multi-media designer. In 2000 he joined Media Style, Inc. a German software development company where he was responsible for data and text mining solutions for large-scale pharmaceutical integration projects and web application projects for Intel and Siemens.
In 2004 he helped contribute to the book "Competitive Intelligence" In addition to back-end technologies like grid computing, he also has experience with front-end technologies like, JSP, XSLT and AJAX.

Rod Hamlin, Executive, Opera Software

Rod has a 20 year track record of sales and sales management in the mobile, wireless, Internet content/advertising, and enterprise markets - serving as senior officers for three public companies, and helping lead five private companies to IPO and acquisition. Hamlin currently owns all operations for Opera Software throughout the Americas. Opera has redefined Web browsing for PCs, mobile phones and other networked devices. Opera's cross-platform Web browser technology is renowned for its performance, standards compliance and small size, while giving users a faster, safer and more dynamic online experience. Opera Software is headquartered in Oslo, Norway, with offices around the world. The company is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange.

Hamlin previously held the position of SVP of Worldwide Sales and Services for Nuance Communications. Rod also served in senior leadership roles at LiteScape Technologies, FreeI Networks (NetZero), Onyx Software, and FileNET (IBM). When he is not in Norway, Rod is active as a Los Altos Little League coach and board member.

Ronald Burr, Executive, LRN. Founder and Former CEO, NetZero

Mr. Burr is a seasoned technology executive with more than 20 years in the technology sector. An industry pioneer, Burr founded and managed NetZero (NASDAQ: UNTD) through its early and rapid growth to its dominate position as one of the worlds largest Internet Service Providers. Burr was instrumental on NetZero’s Goldman Sachs-led initial public offering. During his career he has created technology solutions for many of America 's top companies, including IBM, Verizon Wireless and Sempra Energy and is an inventor on 7 US Patents.

Burr is currently Chief Product Officer for LRN the worlds leading service provider of Ethics and Compliance education solutions. In addition Burr acts as an Advisor to Sproose, Gumiyo, Impact Technology Resources, Edentree and is a Director at Loveday. Prior to LRN, Burr spent 4 years as a partner with Westlake Venture Partners where he invested in early stage technology companies. Burr was also CEO of Layer2 Networks and was a co-founder of NetZero where he served as Chief Executive Officer, President and a Director. During his tenure at NetZero, Burr also served as Chief Technology Officer. Prior to starting NetZero, Burr was a Partner with IMPACT Software, an International IT consulting firm servicing Fortune 500 companies. Prior to IMPACT, Burr held a senior technology consulting position for IBM, and held various management positions, including vice president of software engineering with Vault Corporation, an Allen & Co. venture-backed software startup where he started his career.
