Privacy Policy

Please take a moment to read the following policy so you will understand how we use the personal information we ask you to submit. As we update and expand our services, this policy may change, so please refer back to it periodically. If you use any of Sproose's services, you agree to these terms. Your Privacy

Sproose takes your privacy seriously. When you register at Sproose, note that we ask you for minimal personal information. We use this information only as it is relevant to your negotiation of our Web site. Your login will allow you to link to groups.

As you rank Web sites, we store your rankings in a database, but we do not track, store or compile your URL or site visits in any way, unlike other personalized search engines that accumulate data on your searches. Your information is not tracked and no tracking applications are downloaded onto your computer.

By its nature, this Web site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that Sproose is not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. As such, our policies may not apply to the practices of third parties that Sproose does not own or control, or to individuals that Sproose does not employ or manage.

We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information pertaining to Sproose.

As you read this, Sproose is a "beta" release, which means that it is preliminary and may be subject to errors and faults; this may continue to be true even after the "beta" label is removed. It may include bugs and may be modified or terminated at any time by Sproose for any reason. These changes may be made without notice and may affect your access to information and information that you have submitted. We will take every precaution but cannot guarantee that any entries you make will be preserved or that they will be compatible with new versions of the site.

Collection and Use of Information

When you first register at Sproose, we ask for your E-mail address and a password. Sproose users should be careful not to post identifying or personal information on any review or discussion pages, as this information is public. Pseudonyms can be used for such postings.

We may use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track user's movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not currently linked to personally identifiable information.

Viewing and Updating Your Information on Sproose

You can always access, change or correct the information you have provided to Sproose at any time. Simply log in to your account, go to your account profile and edit the previously submitted information.

Cookies

As you browse the Sproose site, no tracking cookies are placed on your computer's hard drive. (Cookies are small pieces of data that are sent to your browser from a web server and stored on your hard drive.) Sproose cookies do not collect personal information or data. We do not combine information collected through cookies with other personal information that would tell us who you are, or what your screen name or E-mail address is.
Cookies simply allow you to return easily to web-sites that you use frequently, so you don't need to retype the information each time you visit Sproose.

If your browser is set to not accept cookies, you will not be able to fully use the Sproose site or ranking service.

We may also use cookies to gather anonymous usage information, such as the number and frequency of visitors to our site and its various pages. Third parties may serve some of these cookies. We analyze this data to determine which parts of our site customers like and which parts need improvement. Automatically logged information is also used to analyze trends and to administer the site.

Sharing Voted Sites

When you vote a site with Sproose your voted sites will be made available to be viewed by other Sproose users. This allows others to gain knowledge on a topic or keyword search from your search expertise. However, if you do not want someone to view your voted site history you may simply opt out "show vote history public" in the registration page. Then, your voted site history will not be displayed.

Disclosure

We will not sell, rent or disclose your personally identifying information to third parties without notifying you of our intent to share the information and giving you an opportunity to prevent your information from being shared.

We may occasionally use other companies, agents or contractors to perform services necessary to our operations. By contractual agreement, these companies must treat your information in strict accordance with this Policy. We will not be liable for any damages that may result from the misuse of your personal information by these companies.

Any exceptions to this policy of never sharing your name or E-mail address with a partner company will be done only with your permission. Sproose also reserves the right to disclose information when required by law.

We may provide analyses of our users in the aggregate to prospective partners, advertisers and other third parties. We do this so that we, or our advertisers, can understand our users better, and so that we can keep bringing you first-rate services. We may also disclose, on an anonymous basis, literal statements made by our customers. At no time, however, will we disclose personal information about specific users.

Changes to the Privacy Policy

Customers should check back for updates to this policy. Sproose will clearly post any changes on this Site, but users should periodically check the posted Privacy Policy.

Security and Access

For transmitting your personal information to us, we use a secure server (SSL), which encrypts all of your personal information. This encryption process ensures that the information you give us is protected against unauthorized access.

We have implemented technology and security features, as well as strict internal guidelines, to safeguard the privacy of your personal information from unauthorized access or improper use. We will continue to enhance our security procedures as new technology becomes available. While we make every effort to ensure that your information is secure on our system, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk.
